New sleep apnea device shows promise for CPAP dropouts

Summary

This study tested the Inspire system, a device implanted to help people with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea who cannot use CPAP machines. 44 adults in Singapore took part. The study measured how well the device improved breathing during sleep and reduced daytime sleepiness.
