Info sheets may curb unnecessary antibiotics for colds and sore throats

NCT ID NCT07383350

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving patients an information sheet during a doctor's visit for a respiratory infection (like bronchitis, sinusitis, or sore throat) can lower antibiotic prescribing and improve communication. About 1,100 adults in Danish general practices will either receive the sheet or usual care. The goal is to see if a simple tool can help reduce unnecessary antibiotic use.
