First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a device called Q-NRG+ can accurately measure energy expenditure in critically ill infants weighing less than 10 kg in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Researchers will test the device on 80 newborns and small children who are either on a ventilator or breathing on their own. The goal is to see if this method is practical and reliable, which could help doctors provide better nutrition and care for these tiny patients.
