Smart wire helps doctors 'See' inside clogged arteries
NCT ID NCT06112054
Summary
This study tested a new sensor on a guidewire to see if it could tell different tissues apart during procedures to clear blocked arteries in the legs. The sensor measures electrical properties to help doctors identify things like artery wall, plaque, or fresh blood clots. The goal is to provide more information during the procedure to potentially improve outcomes for people with peripheral artery disease.
