First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested a new treatment called IMPACT for people with knee cartilage damage. It combines a person's own cartilage cells with stem cells to repair the knee in a single surgery. The trial compared 30 people who got IMPACT with 30 who received standard care (physical therapy and pain medication) for 9 months. The goal was to see if IMPACT improves knee function and quality of life better than standard care alone.
