First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at whether giving patients special nutrition drinks before major surgery could lower their risk of complications. About 300 well-nourished adults scheduled for surgery took part. The goal was to see if these drinks, which contain immune-supporting ingredients, actually help reduce infections and other problems after the operation.
