Drugs aim to shrink facial tumors before surgery, sparing vital structures
NCT ID NCT05929664
Summary
This study is testing if giving one or two immunotherapy drugs before surgery can shrink advanced basal cell carcinoma tumors on the head or neck. The goal is to make the subsequent surgery less extensive, potentially preserving important structures like the eye, ear, or facial nerves. About 70 adults with tumors that are difficult to remove without major side effects will receive several infusions before their planned surgery.
