First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing whether adding the experimental drug imetelstat to standard chemotherapy (azacitidine, with or without venetoclax) can safely help people whose acute myeloid leukemia has returned or not responded to prior treatment. The study involves up to 36 adults at Mount Sinai Hospital and will first find the safest dose, then look for the most effective dose. It is not a cure, but aims to control the disease.
