Immune booster shows promise for rare anemia
NCT ID NCT02389231
First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026
Summary
This early-phase trial tested a low dose of interleukin-2 (IL-2) in 2 adults with warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia that did not improve with standard steroids. The goal was to see if IL-2 could increase a specific type of immune cell (CD8 Tregs) that may help control the disease. The study focused on safety and changes in blood markers, not a cure.
