Kidney cancer drug combo trial halted early – what we know
NCT ID NCT03260504
First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This early-stage trial tested a combination of two immunotherapy drugs, aldesleukin (IL-2) and pembrolizumab, in 6 people with advanced kidney cancer that had spread. The goal was to find the safest dose and see if the combination could shrink tumors. The study was terminated early, so results are limited, but it aimed to boost the immune system to fight the cancer more effectively.
