Searching for a blood clue to solve mysterious childhood fevers
NCT ID NCT06718049
Summary
This study aims to see if measuring two specific proteins in the blood (IL-18 and IL-18BP) can help doctors tell the difference between rare, serious childhood inflammatory diseases like systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis and other illnesses that cause fever. Researchers will enroll up to 9 children and teenagers who are already being checked for these conditions. The goal is to find a more accurate and faster way to diagnose these complex diseases so treatment can start sooner.
