Gene clues may unlock mystery of two blood disorders

NCT ID NCT07298733

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at two genes, IL-1β and IL-33, in 300 adults with either primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or lupus-related low platelets. The goal is to see if these genes can help doctors tell the two conditions apart more easily. Participants will give a blood sample, and researchers will measure gene activity and compare it to platelet counts and disease activity.
