Researchers check for withdrawal from agitation drug

NCT ID NCT06041646

Summary

This study looked at what happens when people stop taking the medication Igalmi after using it for a week to treat severe agitation. It involved 29 adults with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder who took the drug as needed for agitation over 7 days, then were monitored for 3 days without it. The main goal was to see if stopping the medication caused withdrawal symptoms or if the drug became less effective with repeated use.
