New ICU feeding plan aims to prevent pneumonia and aid recovery
NCT ID NCT07195383
Summary
This study is testing a special nutrition program designed to help intensive care unit (ICU) patients eat safely after their breathing tube is removed. Researchers want to see if this guided feeding plan reduces swallowing problems, lowers the risk of pneumonia, and improves patient recovery compared to standard care. The study will involve 82 adult ICU patients who are randomly assigned to receive either the new program or usual care for four days after extubation.
