New hope for rare leukemia: targeted pill shows promise in relapsed patients

Summary

This study tests a drug called ibrutinib in people whose hairy cell leukemia has come back after treatment. Ibrutinib works by blocking a key enzyme that cancer cells need to grow. The goal is to see if the drug can shrink or control the cancer. About 44 adults with this rare blood cancer will take part.
