Smartphone app could reveal how exercise helps the brain in rare movement disorders

NCT ID NCT06177626

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study was designed to test a smartphone app called iBlink that measures a simple form of learning (eyeblink conditioning) in people with spinocerebellar ataxias, a group of rare brain disorders that affect movement. The goal was to see if aerobic exercise improves this learning and whether the app could track disease progression. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
