First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether applying a substance made from a patient's own blood (i-PRF) helps the socket heal better after wisdom tooth removal. Thirty-two healthy adults had both lower wisdom teeth taken out — one side got the i-PRF treatment, the other did not. The researchers then compared healing, gum recession, and pocket depth around the nearby tooth.
