Eye surgery tweak may prevent retinal Re-Detachment
NCT ID NCT04767555
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study compares two types of surgery for retinal detachment (when the eye's inner lining pulls away). One group gets standard surgery, the other also has a thin membrane peeled away. The goal is to see if this extra step reduces the chance of re-detachment or scar tissue that can blur vision. About 250 adults with a first-time detachment will be followed for 12 months.
