NCT ID NCT04259970

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special MRI scan can better measure how well a new triple therapy works for cystic fibrosis. 64 participants will have MRI scans before and after starting the therapy. The goal is to find a more sensitive way to track lung health and guide future treatments.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

CFTR modulator (triple combination therapy) and inhaled contrast for MRI

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide a more sensitive way to measure lung function in cystic fibrosis, helping doctors tailor treatments and potentially detect early disease changes.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase study focused on imaging methods, not a direct test of a new drug. The results may not apply to all patients or lead to immediate treatment changes.
