Can a quicker radiation blast before surgery be safe for head and neck cancer?
NCT ID NCT05538533
First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This early-stage study tested whether giving a condensed course of radiation (just 5 to 10 sessions) before surgery is safe for people with head and neck cancer. It involved 12 adults with a type of cancer not linked to HPV. The main goal was to see if the shorter radiation caused serious side effects that delayed surgery or led to complications. The study is no longer recruiting, and results are being analyzed.
