Summary
This study explores whether a hypnosis session can help intensive care unit (ICU) patients successfully come off a breathing machine (mechanical ventilator). The goal is to see if hypnosis is feasible and if it can reduce pain and anxiety during the weaning process. Thirty adult ICU patients who have been on a ventilator for at least 48 hours will be invited to try hypnosis while doctors attempt to remove the breathing tube.
