First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber) to standard treatment can help people with severe ulcerative colitis or hard-to-treat inflammatory bowel disease. Researchers will compare remission and symptom improvement in 44 adults who get either standard care alone or standard care plus oxygen therapy. The goal is to see if this extra treatment leads to better control of the disease.
