New eye scan could spot drug damage before It's too late

NCT ID NCT07409740

Summary

This study aims to see if a new, non-invasive eye scan can detect early signs of vision damage in patients who have been taking hydroxychloroquine for at least one year. Hydroxychloroquine is a common medication for autoimmune diseases but can harm the retina over time. Researchers will use a special imaging technique to look for subtle changes in the eye's blood vessels that might signal toxicity before major vision loss occurs.
