Scientists search for Huntington's disease origins in the developing brain

NCT ID NCT01860339

Summary

This study aims to understand if Huntington's disease begins with abnormal brain development early in life, not just later degeneration. Researchers will use MRI brain scans and cognitive tests to compare children and young adults (ages 6-30) who carry the Huntington's gene with those who do not. The goal is to gather knowledge about how the disease might start, which could inform future prevention or treatment strategies.
