Can a simple HPV test replace colposcopy for cervical precancer Follow-Up?
NCT ID NCT01051895
First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study compares two methods for monitoring women after treatment for high-grade cervical precancer: the standard colposcopy exam versus an HPV test. Over 2,200 women will be randomly assigned to one of the two follow-up strategies. The goal is to see which method better detects any remaining or returning precancerous cells, potentially simplifying future care.
