Stress hormones linked to overeating fat gain?

NCT ID NCT06556277

First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at whether stress hormones (glucocorticoids) released after eating cause overweight people to gain more body fat when they overeat. 23 overweight men were given either a drug that blocks these hormones or a placebo during two periods of overeating. The goal was to see if blocking the hormone changed how much body fat they gained.
