Could simply standing up help critically ill patients breathe?
NCT ID NCT01705119
Summary
This study aims to see if moving patients with severe breathing failure from lying down to sitting or standing improves their oxygen levels. Researchers will carefully help 16 hospitalized adults who are on breathing machines to stand up while closely monitoring their safety. The goal is to gather information that could help guide safe physical therapy for very sick patients.
