Oxford pills probe: can prozac change how young adults navigate social rewards and rejection?

NCT ID NCT07456501

Summary

This University of Oxford study aims to understand how the antidepressant Prozac (fluoxetine) affects social decision-making in healthy young people. Researchers will recruit 80 participants aged 18-24, who will be randomly assigned to take either Prozac or a placebo pill for one week. The study will measure changes in how participants process emotions, respond to social feedback, and learn from rewards and punishments, to better understand how antidepressants might work in young adults.
