Scientists unlock secret to smell recovery in sinus patients

NCT ID NCT05964465

Summary

This study aimed to understand how the medication dupilumab helps people with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps regain their sense of smell. Researchers followed 60 adults already scheduled to take dupilumab, measuring inflammation and smell ability over three months. The goal was to see if reducing specific inflammation in the smell area of the nose directly leads to better smell function.
