Can boredom make pain feel worse? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07330167

Summary

This study aims to understand if emotional states like boredom or happiness can change how sensitive people are to pain. Researchers will have 160 participants watch short videos (boring, funny, or neutral) while experiencing brief, controlled pain. They'll measure how much pressure pain participants can tolerate before and after the videos to see if emotions affect pain perception.
