Silent alert in hospital computers aims to curb smoking
NCT ID NCT07164404
Summary
This study is testing a new, non-disruptive computer alert to help doctors remember to prescribe nicotine replacement therapy (like patches or gum) to hospitalized patients who smoke. The goal is to help patients quit smoking and get screened for lung cancer, which can prevent future disease. Researchers are comparing how often doctors prescribe these treatments with and without the new alert system.
