Could hormone shots fix hernias without surgery?

NCT ID NCT07604272

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether anti-estrogen medications can safely shrink inguinal (groin) hernias in men aged 50 and older. About 75 participants will receive one of two doses of fulvestrant (injection) or letrozole (pill) for 6 months. The main goal is to check safety, but researchers will also measure hernia size changes and hormone levels.
