Helmet ventilation plus oxygen: a better breath for ICU patients?

NCT ID NCT05078034

First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to help adults in the ICU who have sudden, severe breathing problems. One group gets high-flow oxygen through the nose plus a helmet that helps push air into the lungs; the other gets only high-flow oxygen. The goal is to see which approach works better and is easier to use. About 200 participants will take part.
