Can home visits keep seniors out of nursing homes?

NCT ID NCT06404138

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a home-based physical therapy program could help older adults regain their ability to perform daily activities after a hospital stay. Fifteen participants aged 75+ who had difficulty with tasks like dressing or bathing were randomly assigned to receive either standard care or six weeks of intensive home therapy. The study primarily aimed to see if conducting a larger future trial would be practical, focusing on recruitment challenges and how participants experienced the therapy.
