First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study explored whether analyzing social media messages (like WhatsApp and Instagram) can help identify young women at risk for HIV. Researchers collected 6 months of messages from 400 women aged 18-24 in Kisumu, Kenya, and used AI to look for patterns linked to HIV risk. The goal was to see if this approach could improve how we assess prevention needs without relying only on questionnaires.
