ER video nudge aims to boost HIV and hepatitis c testing

NCT ID NCT05968573

First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a very brief, persuasive message—delivered by a video or a counselor—can increase HIV and hepatitis C testing among emergency room patients who initially said no. About 2,000 adults who speak English or Spanish and haven't been tested in the past year will take part. The goal is to find a simple, low-cost way to catch more infections early.
