New HIV biologic shows promise in early trial – but cure still distant
NCT ID NCT07182838
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This early-phase study tests a new biologic treatment in 20 people with HIV who have no AIDS symptoms. The goal is to see if the therapy can lower the amount of virus in the blood and help the immune system fight HIV better. The treatment is given through the skin, and researchers will check if it can turn HIV tests negative in most participants after three weeks. This is a small, early trial to gather initial evidence, not a cure.
