Could antibody infusions replace daily HIV pills?

NCT ID NCT03526848

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether infusions of two lab-made antibodies (3BNC117 and 10-1074) can safely control HIV in people who temporarily stop their daily antiretroviral therapy (ART). Twenty-six adults with well-controlled HIV received seven antibody infusions and were monitored for viral rebound. The goal was to see if the antibodies could keep the virus suppressed and reduce the hidden HIV reservoir, potentially allowing for treatment-free periods.
