New study sharpens diagnosis of PCOS symptoms in polish women
NCT ID NCT06530498
First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 1,330 women with irregular periods to find the best way to diagnose excess hair growth (hirsutism) and hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) linked to PCOS. Researchers used two simple scoring systems—the modified Ferriman-Gallwey scale and the Ludwig scale—to determine the right cutoff for diagnosis and see how these symptoms relate. The goal is to improve and standardize diagnosis in the Polish population.
