New nerve block challenges standard pain relief for hip surgery

NCT ID NCT06688136

Summary

This study compared two different methods for managing pain after total hip replacement surgery. Researchers tested a new type of nerve block injection against the standard pain injection given around the joint. The main goal was to see which method better reduced patients' need for strong opioid painkillers in the first day after surgery.
