New needle technique may ease hip pain without surgery
NCT ID NCT07548034
First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests if a minimally invasive treatment called percutaneous electrolysis (using a fine needle and mild electrical current) plus exercise can reduce hip pain more than exercise alone. About 30 adults with long-term hip impingement pain will be randomly assigned to either the needle-plus-exercise group or an exercise-only group. Researchers will measure pain and hip function over five weeks to see if the added needle treatment offers extra relief.
