Chair stands put to the test for hip fracture recovery

NCT ID NCT05840315

First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether doing many sit-to-stand exercises (like getting up from a chair) is safe and doable for older adults recovering from a hip fracture. Thirty patients aged 60+ in a Danish rehab program tried the training. Researchers checked if pain stayed low during exercise and if most people stuck with the program. The goal was to see if this simple exercise can strengthen legs without causing lasting hip pain.
