First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding high-intensity interval training (HIIT) to regular practice could improve fitness in 24 teenage female field hockey players. One group did HIIT three times a week for 8 weeks, while the other group only did their usual training. The HIIT group improved in aerobic capacity, reaction time, balance, and jumping, but lost some flexibility. The study was small and focused on performance, not treating any disease.
