Can high flow oxygen speed up ventilator weaning for tracheostomy patients?
NCT ID NCT07559591
First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether using high flow oxygen through the tracheostomy tube helps critically ill patients come off the ventilator faster compared to standard care. It involves 88 adults in the ICU who already have a tracheostomy and are ready to try breathing on their own. The main goal is to see if a larger study is possible, not to prove the treatment works yet.
