First human trial launches for Dual-Virus HFMD vaccine

Summary
This is an early-stage study to test the safety and initial immune response of a new vaccine designed to prevent Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD). The vaccine targets two common viruses that cause HFMD. The trial will enroll 144 healthy participants, from infants as young as 6 months to adults up to 59 years old, who will receive two shots of either the vaccine or a placebo.
