New surgical safety check aims to prevent Post-Op breathing crises

NCT ID NCT07422441

Summary

This study is testing a new decision-making method for surgeons during large hernia repair operations. It uses real-time measurements of how easily a patient's lungs are working to help decide the safest way to close the abdominal wall. The main goal is to see if this approach reduces serious breathing problems in the first 72 hours after surgery.
