First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study compared two types of mesh used in laparoscopic hernia repair: a self-gripping mesh and a conventional mesh fixed with a single tack. 95 adults with inguinal hernia were randomly assigned to one of the two meshes. The goal was to see which mesh caused less discomfort and better quality of life after surgery, measured by patient questionnaires at 1 week, 3 weeks, and 3 months.
