New hope for hepatitis c: triple therapy shows promise in untreated patients

Summary

This study tested a new drug called MP-424 combined with two standard hepatitis C medications (peginterferon alfa-2b and ribavirin) in 189 adults with genotype 1 hepatitis C who had never been treated before. The main goal was to see if the virus could be cleared from the blood 24 weeks after treatment ended. People with severe liver damage or certain mental health conditions were not included.
