One-Hour hepatitis c test trial aims to speed up diagnosis in ER

NCT ID NCT03767231

Summary

This study is testing a new, faster finger-prick test for hepatitis C in the emergency room. Researchers want to see if patients find this 1-hour test acceptable and if getting results quickly helps connect them to treatment faster than the standard test, which takes 1-2 days. The study will involve 200 emergency room patients who have already tested positive for hepatitis C antibodies but don't yet know if they have an active infection.
