Scientists test drug cocktails to fight silent liver virus

Summary
This study tested several new combination drug therapies for people with chronic hepatitis B who were already on standard medication. Researchers enrolled 281 participants to compare different drug combinations against a common control group, looking primarily at safety and whether the treatments could reduce signs of the virus in the blood. The trial used a flexible 'platform' design that allowed new treatment arms to be added during the study.
